Groups allow you to organize students within PLT4M.
You can use groups to manage program assignment, track workouts, structure leaderboards, and and more. Students can belong to more than one group. For example, a student may belong to the "Girls Basketball" group as well as the "2nd Period PE" group.
To create your groups:
- Navigate to the Rosters tab and select the +Create Group button in the top right corner.

- Give the Group a name, choose your registration type, and click Save group
- Public groups are viewable by students, and students can join via their account
- Private groups are not viewable by students, and students must be added by a staff member
We recommend creating public groups so students can easily join the group(s) upon registration. This will save you the step of having to add students to groups!

How to add students to your group:
- If you made the group public, you can instruct students to join the group when they register.
- If you made the group private, you can use the select students section to filter or search for students to be added to your group. Use the (+) and (-) signs to move students in and out of a group.

How to grant staff access to your group:
- From your Groups tab on the Roster page, click into the group which you'd like to grant staff access to
- Click into the Staff section towards the top of the page. Use the (+) and (-) signs to add or remove staff members in your group.

PLT4M Pro Tip: Group names often reflect your class period or team. For example, 0 Hour Weights, 3rd Hour Fitness, or Varsity Football are common group names.
